Ok…this place is one of the best.
Carmon’s has been an institution in Champaign Urbana and the Champaign downtown scene in particular for years. But this latest incarnation – actually reincarnation- actually it probably took something on the order of an immaculate conception- brings us all a vivid taste of France and some wonderful dining.
Here is the intro note from the Carmon’s Bistro site:
Established in September of 2011 as restaurateur Thad Morrow’s second endeavor, Carmon’s Bistro features local food with a country flair. Simple, rustic, yet elegant plates paired with an organic wine list sets Carmon’s Bistro apart in the Champaign-Urbana culinary scene. The cozy, intimate atmosphere highlights the dishes crafted by head chef, Joshua Boyd.
The menu changes almost daily, based on what local ingredients can be sourced. Our patio is open, weather permitting. We do not accept reservations and can only accommodate parties of up to 6 people. Free parking is available to the west of the building.

Any meal there is an adventure…even breakfast. A stop by there recently gave us a taste of one of their fine morning dishes:
